The Greater Akron
Chamber has announced Marie Reichart, Elementary
School Principal at Our Lady of the Elms, as a
recipient of the 30 for the Future award. This award
honors young professionals, ages 25 to 39, whose contributions
have impacted their industries and the Greater Akron Region.
Reichart is one of 30 recipients to
receive the award, now in its fourth year. The recipients will
be recognized at an awards ceremony on September 13, 2010 at
the Akron Civic Theatre. Reichart said, “I am honored to
receive this award and proud to represent my alma mater, Our
Lady of the Elms school.”

Director of Operations for Our Lady of the Elms, “Our Lady of
the Elms is fortunate to have Marie Reichart as the Elementary
School Principal and as a member of the Council of Leaders.
She exemplifies leadership and I’m confident the Akron
community and Our Lady of the Elms will continue to benefit
from her talents for many years to come.”
The 30 for the Future recipients
are selected based on leadership documents that showcase their
personal and professional contributions to their industries
and the community. Please plan to celebrate with Marie
Reichart and the other 30 For the Future recipients by
attending the pre-event networking reception and awards
ceremony on September 13 at the Akron Civic Theatre from

The combined 3rd/4th grade
volleyball team,
coached by Dave Murray and Bernice Roelen, won the
CYO Division IIIA Bronze Championship Tournament. They won the 1st game, lost the 2nd
then won the 3rd. The 3rd grade players: Erynn
Ouellette, Olivia Kovitch, Alexis Armstrong, Martina Roelen
The 4th grade players: Franny
Murray, Christine Schoenbaechler, Maria Dhinojwala, Audrey
Smith, Sophie Vincenti

We will begin using Everyday Mathematics in K-5 in Fall
2009.

Recently received an Educator Initiative Grant from the GAR
foundation for $15,000 for a farm to school program. We are partnering with
Crown Point Ecology Center to start the farm to school program.

Mrs. Jill McLaughlin will replace Sr. Betty Baltrinic, O.P., as Director of
Religious Education. Sr. Betty Balrinic recently retired at the end of a
long tenure at Our Lady of the Elms.
