·       7th/8th grade Soccer team runner-up in CYO Championship!

This weekend's Akron CYO Divsion 1 playoff games were the most exciting of the season, showcasing a team full of energy on the offense and defense.  The first game against IHM started off slow for the Panthers, but by the second half the offense made a decisive victory - sending the Panthers to the semifinals.  The second game against NACS would showcase the power of the Panther defense - our girls effectively shut down NACS two best players cinching a spot in the championship final.  Sunday's championship game against Seton was also another great display of teamwork and determination. Unfortunately, we suffered a player injury in the second half, and with no substitutions, the Panthers played short a player for the remainder of the second half, refusing to let another goal be scored.  The Elms played with great intensity up until the final whistle. The officials even commented on how well the team played under such difficult circumstances against a team with several subs on the bench. - Coach Eric Cantor
