Holocaust Speaker - As part of Catholic Schools Week (Preaching Pillar), the Elms will host a speaker on the Holocaust on Tuesday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ann Amer Brennan Theater. All Elms parents are invited to attend. Julie Kronenberg (nee Hennenberg) is the granddaughter of three survivors. All four of her grandparents came to America as immigrants seeking a better life after the end of WWII. She currently working to catalog her grandfather, Jacob’s, collection of artifacts pertaining to the Jewish experiences in Europe before and during the Holocaust and finish editing his memoir they had started before his death.
Dress Down Day on Wednesday, January 30, is sponsored by the Lower School PTO and Middle School/Upper School Panther Pride Club. If you have supported either parent club through the sponsorship drive at the Supporting, Investing or Sustaining levels, your student is eligible for the dress down day. A reminder email will be sent to parents and a list with all eligible student names will be sent to the Lower School and Middle/Upper School offices. You can still make a donation and earn a dress down day for your student by printing, completing and sending this form to your respective school office by Friday, January 25. Questions? Youth Leadership Development: Our Role is being presented by the ATHENA Akron Leadership Forum on Friday, February 1, from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at Portage Country Club. The Elms President, Deborah Farquhar Jones, will be part of a four-person panel discussing the topic. Member cost is $35 and non-member cost is $45. Register online.

Catholic Education Scholarship Program - The Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union will be awarding students at Catholic elementary and high schools scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year. In order to apply for a scholarship, applicants must be a member of Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union, currently attend a Catholic elementary or high school in Ohio and be willing to submit proof of income if chosen as a finalist. Applications are online from Sunday, January 27 through Sunday, March 3.
You Could Win $10,000! - The Elms Panther Pride Club (EPPC) and the Lower School PTO are sponsoring a Tuition Raffle. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Winner can use the $10,000 for a tuition credit for ANY K-12 or college student. The winning check can also be deposited into a 529 college savings plan! Drawing will be held during February Fantasy on February 16, 2019, and the winner need not be present to qualify. Raffle will convert to a 50:50 drawing if fewer than 200 tickets are sold.
