ALUMNAE
Greetings Elms
Alumnae,
I am Jill Peck Lieser, a graduate from the Class of ’99, and the previous
Elms Director of Admissions. I am very excited to be the new Director of
Alumnae Relations. This role has the responsibility
of overseeing not only the Alumnae Association and its functions,
but also Author! Author!.
My top priorities for the upcoming year are creating an active Alumnae Association, building a strong program of alumnae events, and connecting alumnae with current students.
My goal is to redevelop the Alumnae Association through committee involvement. It would be wonderful to see many of you reconnect with your school and your friends. Through committee involvement you can have the opportunity to give your time and talent to the school which shaped you, while having fun with your Elms Girls. These committees are open to all alumnae, especially young alumnae starting their careers and looking for opportunities to build their resume. We would hope that these committees would form mentoring relationships between our alumnae of all ages.
We have all had opportunities to grow beyond the Elms but many of the friendships built at the Elms are lasting. The Elms would like to provide you with the opportunity to connect with your lifelong friends. The active Alumnae Association will also plan to develop more social opportunities for alumnae to connect, ranging from Happy Hours, Runs, Book Clubs, Retreats and much more. It would be the goal of the Alumnae Association to have a developed events calendar for the year.
An Elms education is the common thread that we share. We can agree that our opportunity to learn in an all-girls environment, with individualized attention, leadership opportunities, and a religious foundation made us who we are. The Elms tradition in education continues each day in West Akron. These girls are here because of you and many would love to connect with you. There are numerous opportunities for alumnae to connect with current students, let us help you.
The Alumnae
Association has much potential and I am excited to reconnect each of you
with your Alma Mater. I hope that you can join me soon for an alumnae
function, so that I can meet you in person. I look forward to working with
you to spread the good news of the Elms, plan alumnae events, and connect
alumnae with current students. There will be many opportunities to get
involved and showcase your talents.
I’m just
one person, and without support, assistance, and ideas these are all just
dreams. I need your help, and hope I can count on the Elms Ladies to help me
build a stronger community and continue the traditions of the Elms!
