2018-2019 Scholarship Application
Our Lady of the Elms will award scholarships to deserving students for the 2018-2019 academic year. These scholarships have been generously funded and endowed by faithful supporters of the Elms to help students receive
an exceptional Catholic education at Our Lady of the Elms High School. Please remember that your application is your voice and represents you to our Scholarship Committee. It should be an accurate reflection of your commitment to school, community, and faith. Before you submit your application please review it carefully for completion. Only applications received by 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017, will be considered. No scholarships can be awarded without a FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment, regardless of test scores.
Financial Aid Information
Students in need of financial aid must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. This third party company conducts financial analysis to determine your family’s financial need. The Elms will receive a confidential report outlining your financial situation based on the information obtained in your application and supporting tax documents. The financial aid committee will review the application and propose an award based on your family’s need level and available funds. Apply online. Students receiving financial aid must apply on an annual basis. Applicants must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment form by Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Apply for Our Lady of the Elms scholarships by following these steps:
1. Take the Elms placement test on Saturday, October 13, or Saturday, November 4. Register online or call 330.703.2622.
2. Submit grades transcript
All students applying for scholarships must submit a copy of their grade 7 final report card and a copy of their grade 8 first quarter report card via email or USPS.
3. Write an essay
Answer the following essay question on a separate sheet of paper. Submit the essay with your grades via email or USPS. Please write legibly or type.
Essay Prompt: St. Catherine of Siena, a Dominican, tells us, “Do not be satisfied with the little things,
because God wants great things.” What great things do you see happening in your future, and how do
you think the Elms will help you in your journey?
