Scholarship Opportunities

Our Lady of the Elms offers a select number of partial-tuition merit scholarships, made possible through the generosity of many alumnae, donors, foundations, families, and friends of the Elms. Merit scholarships are open to prospective 9th grade and high school transfer applicants. Financial need is taken into consideration but is not the only factor in scholarship determination. Please complete the requirements below to apply:

The deadline to submit the Merit Scholarship application is December 1, 2023.

Applications and materials may be submitted the following ways:

  • In person – please place all materials in a large envelope marked with the applicant’s name

  • Via email to cconley@theelms.org

  • Via USPS to 1375 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44313, Attn: Admissions

Scholarship and financial aid applicants will be notified of award status before Christmas 2022.


Financial Aid

Financial Aid (FACTS) 
Families of students in Kindergarten through Grade 12:
FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment conducts the financial need analysis for Our Lady of the Elms.  All families receiving financial aid and need-based scholarship support must complete the FACTS Grant and Aid Application each year. The deadline for the first round of financial aid for new families is January 1. The deadline for the second round of financial aid for new families is February 1. If funds remain after March 1, awards will be made on a rolling basis until exhausted. Pre-School / Pre-Kindergarten families are not eligible for financial aid.

Applicants can apply online by clicking the FACTS link. The following information will be needed in a .pdf format to complete the application process:

  • your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules.

  • your most recent W-2 forms for both you and your spouse.

  • supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and TANF.

Documentation can also be faxed to (866) 315-9264 or mailed to the address below.  Please be sure to include the applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.

State Scholarships

Our Lady of the Elms accepts the following scholarships provided by the State of Ohio:

  • Ohio EdChoice (Traditional) - based on assigned school building and grade level

  • Ohio EdChoice (Expansion) - based on household size and income

  • Jon Peterson Scholarship for Special Needs - students who have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

Families are encouraged to explore eligibility requirements on the Ohio Department of Education's website. To apply for State of Ohio scholarships, students must be accepted and enrolled at Our Lady of the Elms. A copy of the student’s birth certificate and proof of residence is required for all state scholarship applicants.
