Introducing Angela Scherer: Our New Science Teacher
We are pleased to welcome Angela Scherer to Our Lady of the Elms School as our new High School science teacher. Angela brings extensive experience in teaching science across various grade levels She will teach Biology, AP Biology, Environmental Science, plus Anatomy & Physiology. Her teaching experience spans recent roles at Saint Francis de Sales Elementary School in Akron and Friendship Southeast Elementary School in Washington D.C.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Akron and has pursued additional graduate studies in both the Education and Biology departments. Her career has been marked by a dedication to creating engaging and supportive learning environments, with a focus on fostering student growth and understanding in the sciences.
Mrs. Scherer shared, “I believe that hands-on work in science is an excellent way to deepen your understanding and develop practical skills. It allows you to explore concepts firsthand and engage in the process of scientific discovery. Whether it's conducting experiments, analyzing data, or building models, hands-on work can provide valuable insights and enhance your learning experience.”
Angela’s background and commitment to education make her an excellent addition to our team. She will be instrumental in enriching our high school science curriculum and guiding students through their exploration of science. Her hands-on approach and enthusiasm for teaching will undoubtedly inspire our students and contribute to their academic success.
