Welcome KT Palmer Hampton, Basketball Coach

Welcome, KT Palmer Hampton to Our Lady of the Elms as the Basketball Program Director. Over the past several years, KT has assisted in coaching basketball at the local level. During her basketball career, KT was captain of St. Vincent - St. Mary’s 1995 Division III Women's Basketball State Championship Team, and Summit County’s 1996 Player of the Year. Also, KT created the John R. Buchtel Richelle Hatcher girls basketball scholarship, to honor her cousin, Richelle Hatcher Campbell. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who will be entering college or a university to play basketball.

When asked about her approach to coaching, KT shared, “I look forward to building a women's program that works hard at the fundamentals every day, embraces adversity as an opportunity for growth and nourishes each girl's strengths to be the best teammate on and off the court.”

Erica Harper, Athletic Director at Our Lady of the Elms, said, "Coach KT is an engaged community member who instinctively is a catalyst who can rally the people and start things moving. She has a passion to see all the girls reach their highest potential not only in basketball but in any sports they choose to play. Coach KT  has so much to offer our girls and is constantly looking at ways to make our program bigger and better."

In Akron, KT sits on several boards, including, The Well CDC, Harry Donovan Jr. Valor Home, Laura Dunlop Summit County Stand Down and is President of The Elms Community Club, our parent organization. KT is a mother to three beautiful young daughters.
