Ananya Sharma Named 2025 Star Student by Beacon Journal
AKRON, OH — Our Lady of the Elms School is proud to announce that Ananya Sharma, a distinguished member of the Class of 2025, has been named a 2025 Greater Akron-Canton Star Student by the Akron Beacon Journal. The prestigious honor recognizes top graduating seniors from high schools across the region who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, service, and strong character.
Selected from a competitive pool of nominees, Ananya stood out not only for her impressive academic record but also for her passion for civic engagement, science, and leadership. Originally from Nepal, she plans to study biology and global health at Case Western Reserve University with the goal of becoming a physician. Ananya’s work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and compassion have made her a role model within the Elms community and beyond.
“Our school’s mission is to educate young women to live with purpose, confidence, kindness, resilience, justice, and faith,” said Mr. Walt Jacob, the Upper School Director at Our Lady of the Elms School. “Ananya exemplifies all of these values, and we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments.”
During her time at the Elms, Ananya was a standout on the Speech and Debate team, participated in Model United Nations, and led community service efforts. Her recognition as a Star Student is a testament not only to her achievements but also to the strength of an all-girls, faith-based education.
