Building Skills On and Off the Court: Ray Torrence Joins as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
Ray Torrence joins Our Lady of the Elms School as the new Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the 2025–2026 school year. With over a decade of coaching experience and as a certified personal trainer, Ray brings a proven record of developing winning teams while fostering individual growth, sportsmanship, and academic excellence.
Previously, Ray served as Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for Baldwin Park Unified School District in California, leading his teams to three consecutive state championships. Known for his motivational leadership and strategic approach, he emphasizes teamwork, discipline, skill development, and athletic conditioning both on and off the court. Ray also supports student-athletes academically, helping them achieve balance and success beyond athletics.
Ray’s passion for coaching is matched by his commitment to building character and resilience in young athletes. His leadership style encourages players to strive for excellence, maintain integrity, and enjoy the camaraderie of a strong team culture.
