Elms Students Accepted into All-Akron Student Engineering Program

Our Lady of the Elms School is pleased to recognize juniors Sarah Rana, Mi’Kheia Wiggins, Ciara Morissey, and Kyla Morissey for their acceptance into Cycle 11 of the All-Akron Student Engineering Program (ASEP).

ASEP is a City of Akron–funded initiative, made possible through the support of Akron Waterways Renewed, that provides Akron high school juniors and seniors with meaningful exposure to the field of engineering. The program is designed to help students develop both technical knowledge and professional skills through a six-week, hands-on learning experience.

As part of the program, participants explore real-world engineering concepts, engage in problem-solving activities, and prepare for paid summer internship opportunities with local partners, including the City of Akron, Goodyear, Cleveland Clinic, and Environmental Design Group.

This opportunity reflects the students’ interest in STEM, their commitment to academic growth, and their willingness to pursue experiences that support college and career readiness. Participation in ASEP offers valuable preparation for students considering future pathways in engineering, design, infrastructure, environmental work, and related fields.

Congratulations to Sarah, Mi’Kheia, Ciara, and Kyla on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of their initiative and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow through this experience.
