The academic dean, Kevin Kelly, of Our Lady of the Elms School, announced that Grace Pryor has been named a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which conducts the program, will be presented by the academic dean to this scholastically talented senior.

Alexa Renner, a junior at Our Lady of the Elms High School, is presenting her paper at the 2021 Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Institute of Technology Undergraduate Math Conference on April 23-24. Alexa's paper on the Novel Limit Theorem was reviewed by her professor at the University of Akron. Later she was recommended as a presenter at this year's virtual conference.

Out of the 18,000 people that applied, she and 6,885 others were chosen as finalists to move forward. Only 1,464 students were matched, and Bernadette was among them. She has matched with the University of Chicago and will be attending next fall, with a full four-year ride.

Magnolia Myers, a 9th grade student at Our Lady of the Elms, was recently honored for achieving an exceptional score on the ACT, the same test taken by college bound high school students. Magnolia took this above-grade-level test as an 8th grade student through Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS), a program of the Center for Talent Development (CTD).
