Dominican sisters transfer Our Lady of the Elms to Catholic nonprofit
There’s been a change at Our Lady of the Elms, although few will notice. The Dominican Sisters of Peace have transferred the Akron parochial school and three others to Dominican Veritas Ministries, a civil corporation recognized by the Vatican to oversee Dominican educational ministries.
Bishop Edward C. Malesic of Cleveland and the Vatican have approved the transfer, which is effective immediately.

Elms Takes First Place in Read to the Final Four NCAA 2024
Our Lady of the Elms won the competition, with 30 students reading an average of 13,770 minutes per student. The school will receive a Scholastic books library refresh from the NCAA, tickets to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a special Studio 525 experience at the Cleveland Public Library. Each third grader from the Final Four schools received a prize package featuring items from the NCAA, NASA and Scholastic.

Welcome Tamula Drumm, Chinese Language Teacher Oversees Elms Girls LEAD
We welcome, Tamula, to Our Lady of the Elms as a Chinese Language Teacher (Kindergarten through Grade 8) and to oversee the Elms Girls LEAD program. Ms. Drumm has 13 years of experience teaching Chinese and worked in China for 7 years. Most recently, Tamula taught Chinese levels 1-5 and coordinated the International Student Program at St. Vincent - St. Mary High School. She grew the Chinese language program from 16 students to 135 students.
