Turn Your Love into a Legacy

Your gift, regardless of its size, is important to the Elms because it reflects your commitment and dedication to the school. Your considerate planning ensures that future students will benefit from the unique dimensions and opportunities provided by an Elms education. The investment you make will benefit your loved ones and Our Lady of the Elms School.

Traditions to Support

  • The Elms endowment enables and enhances the life of the students. Continuing to support the endowment is critical to sustaining our work into the future. General endowment contributions of any size provide a valuable source of funding for the school’s essential operations budget, as well as necessary projects.

  • A wide range of named endowment opportunities for a specific purpose are available in many areas, which may include STEM programs, arts & culture, technology and the library and archives.

  • The Elms phenomenal staff is very passionate about their students and their leadership ensures that the school will continue to flourish. Your gift in support of the faculty and staff enables us to recruit and retain the brightest and the best.

  • Educational, athletic and extra-curricular programs enable the students to engage and flourish, finding their passion and talents. Model UN, Speech & Debate, Softball, Tennis, Golf, STEM programs, and Entrepreneurship are several of the opportunities that create unique experiences for our students. Your funding will allow the school to continue to engage our students for the future.

Paths to Create Opportunities

Gifts of Cash or Securities

A gift of cash is a straightforward way to support the Elms, and may be fully tax-deductible. Stocks, certain bonds and mutual funds held for more than 12 months also offer the opportunity to make a tax-effective way to donate.

Bequests and Wills

Remembering Our Lady of the Elms School in your will is a powerful expression of your confidence in its future. Many alumnae, families, and friends have found that the easiest way to make a significant gift to the Elms is through a bequest. Bequests offer the flexibility to retain and use your assets and to make adjustments to address your financial and charitable goals.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF) or Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)

Contact your financial advisor to recommend a gift to Our Lady of the Elms through your DAF or to set up a DAF if you currently do not have one in place. Many community foundations will help you set up your DAF and explain the tax advantages of making a gift from a Donor Advised Fund.

Qualifying donors of an Individual Retirement Account can make direct transfers to the Elms from an IRA without incurring income tax. Please consult your tax advisor.

Planned or Deferred Gifts

Turn your love into a legacy by leaving a planned gift. These gifts include scholarship endowments, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder and lead trusts and real estate. Let us help you match your goals with a specific program or areas of greatest need.
